Did You Hear Yourself?

Words-and-power“Life is difficult. It is a struggle and you must fight for what you want.”

“Life can be challenging but you have the ability to answer the call to rise.”

On the surface, it seems they are saying the same thing – one more forcefully, the other more gently. Depending on your personality, one may sit well with you whereas the other doesn’t resonate at all.

Words matter. They shape the way we see the world and how we subsequently choose to act in it. When we become more aware of the specific language we’re using, we reveal our deepest beliefs about the world and about ourselves.

What is it that you have been saying about how your life is unfolding? What subtle changes in your speech may give you a much needed shift in perspective?

    Aloha Emelia!

One subtle change would be make better word choices when explaining my business – specifically using the word “supposedly”. I don’t know why but it slips out.

I used to be very introverted. Over the years I got better and became more confident. Some old habits never die, but I made a conscious decision to be more aware of the words that I use in business and personal life.

Thank you Emelia for choosing this topic. It resonated with me. Words really do affect our attitude which affects our alignment -I believe that.

    Aloha, love!

That’s exactly it – alignment. Are our words lining up with our thoughts/beliefs and subsequent actions? If we’re negligent at any level it impedes our progress. Great comment. 🙂

I am constantly blown away at how much your words resonate with me. Everything you post is truly a gift. This particular observation about words – even more so at this time in history – and how careless we (and those who would lead us) are with the power we have to inspire and motivate…really strikes a chord. So many words get thrown around in fits of emotion and tangled at a time when focus is needed. The time we take to articulate before speaking is critical. Seems like now more than ever we need to make statements that can be heard above the noise. Thank you so much for the clarity and inspiration your words bring.

      Hey Michelle,

Sorry for the delay. 🙂 You are so right about the delicate nature of the time we’re in. The pause before we release our words into the world makes all the difference. And cutting through the noise will be made possible the more clear we are with our intention. So glad to have crossed paths with your beautiful soul. <3
