There’s something about a change of seasons that calls for inner transition. Just cleaning out your living space can do wonders for balance and centeredness. Simply stated, creating physical space correlates with creating mental space.
But you can go much further than that. You can apply the same principles to other aspects of your life. The clutter you keep may include activities in which you half-heartedly engage. It can also refer to the company you keep.
Take inventory of all the entities that surround you that are pulling from your reserve of energy. Take time to review areas where you must say no. Carefully consider the people around you who are weighing you down. Of course, you can’t discard people like you discard things, but perhaps it’s time to decrease your interactions. At the very least, be vigilant of the way you feel around them and vow not to get caught up in another’s vortex of negativity.
Release all of the things taking up your emotional space. Reclaim your wholeness.
Give yourself room to breathe again.
If you need some more inspiration, check out the new book by my dear friend Dr. Melva Green and co-author Laura Rosenfeld. “Breathing Room” will give you everything you need and more.

When’s the last time you thanked yourself?
Seriously. When’s the last time you gave yourself a pat on the back for a job well done?
We talk about the practice of gratitude but we often forget to include ourselves on the receiving end of that. When something bad happens, we often blame ourselves. Even if we don’t consciously hold ourselves accountable, we focus on what we should have done how we should have been…On some level, we claim responsibility.
When something great happens, we’ll say “Thank God/the Universe/the Divine.” We forget that we are constantly co-creating with that force. When it’s completely the Divine’s doing, that can be called grace. However, don’t we often help to get pieces in place? Do we not create fertile ground upon which the Divine can add its magic?
Go ahead and take some credit. You’re an active partner in this dance.
You deserve the warmth of your own appreciation.

To continually educate ourselves is essential for growth. It is crucial for defense in that we don’t believe and adopt what we hear by default. It enables us to make stronger decisions and stand for what we consider to be important.
However, there is something more important than knowledge and that is knowing.
Knowing is that intangible feeling that compels you act in a particular way. It is the force that drives you to make a decision that you’re logically uncertain about but still relatively confident in making.
This is a different force than that of impulse as knowing will always lead to the highest good. Impulse? Not so much.
There are times when you know what you don’t know. It sounds contradictory, but we’ve all had the feeling.
Knowing is your connection to the Divine. Humanity has acquired knowledge, but your soul has eternal and complete wisdom.
Your knowledge will always be limited. Knowing is infinite.

We’ve been lied to. Duped. At the very least, misinformed.
People always talk about living up to one’s potential. But, think about it. To reach your full potential means you’ve done all you can do. That’s it. The end.
Reaching full potential effectively means DEATH:
1) You could die physically which obviously renders you incapable of further action.
2) You could die internally having believed you reached your potential, and live on a false plateau of daily existence.
However, the great thing about true potential is that it’s a temptress. As you grasp for it, it teasingly turns its back and moves just out of your reach. Its elusive nature beckons you to keep moving forward. This dance is what life is all about – growth and expansion. And with her encouragement, you’ll be surprised at just how far you can go.
So, that’s it. You will never realize your full potential. You’re not meant to. Don’t expect to reach it. Just reach for it and enjoy the dance.

We spend so much time trying to get everything just right and attempting to put pieces in all the right places. Our minds tell us that if we do A, B, and C then a particular outcome will happen. In many instances, this is true.
However, think of the thing that keeps escaping you. You do everything in your power and still can not yield the results you believe you deserve. You have logically approached the situation and can’t understand why you fall short.
Perhaps, it’s because you fail to acknowledge a missing part of your carefully crafted formula.
Take a look at the world around you. There is organization everywhere: the pattern in the center of a sunflower, the rhythms of our solar system, our trillions of cells working in a concerted fashion to run our bodies, and so on.
Remember that there is an organizing power that has absolutely nothing to do with your efforts. Call that power by whatever name you feel comfortable with, but its ubiquity can’t be denied.
So remember that when you are using airtight logic to get what you want, poke a few holes in it to allow this other force to breathe. Allow the magic of the Universe to weave its way through the fluid foundation you have built. Remain flexible as to how things are “supposed to” happen. There’s something bigger at play. Leave space for Universal assistance.
Are you leaving space?
