In times of uncertainty, the mind will use its imagination to spin the most miraculous tales. Unfortunately, if ego is running the show, those tales result in more worry than wonder.

To counter the discomfort, the ego will then construct a narrative that it can cling to. No matter how illogical that narrative may be, it provides the measure of certainty the ego craves.

As a result, it becomes a stance that the holder of it will never question. That is because deep inside, they know it can’t hold up to the slightest amount of scrutiny.

Like a snag in a sweater, they don’t want to pull on it because the whole thing may unravel and uncertainty will be right there waiting.

Spirit can tolerate the unknown. Ego denies and conceals.
