What’s your relationship to power? Does it thrill you? Does it scare you? Does it interest you at all?

For the sake of argument, only consider authentic power. The kind that allows you to manifest your highest possibilities – not the kind of power that is purely self-serving and corrupt.

Even in its finest form, not everyone wants it. There’s responsibility that comes along with it. Decisions to be made. Actions to be taken. Power requires something of us and not all of us are willing to meet that. It demands courage.

We all have access to that pool of infinite power. Have you explored the reasons why you haven’t jumped in?

If you don’t understand your relationship to it, you can’t harness it.

We live in a world full of cycles: the phases of the moon, the seasons, the earth’s rotation and revolution. Our own bodies are constantly going through cycles of growth, death and renewal. Rhythms play throughout our existence.

What is challenging is to identify our own place amongst these universal patterns. We can often feel out of sync with everything around us.

Consider this. Compared to healthy cells, a cancer cell grows in an uncoordinated fashion. It is out of rhythm. When we don’t understand how to participate in the dance of life, we, too, can become the disruptive element – the pathology.

Learning to fall into rhythm, isn’t about conformity. Life is not a line dance. It’s more of an intricate tango where you partner with the Universe to create something of beauty. Your flow finds a way to complement what is already presented to you.

Most of us don’t live in isolation. We are immersed in worlds full of influences that don’t necessarily support our path. How can you focus in the midst of where you are despite the distractions? What if the distractions are people?

This is most difficult when the person may be a loved one.  When this is the case, they generally fall into one of three categories:

1) they are unconscious of their effect on you

2) they are fearful of where you are headed

3) they simply don’t care.

In the first case, sometimes people miss the subtle cues given to them. Perhaps you haven’t made your path one of importance. Be explicit and see how they respond.

In the second case, all you can do is speak from the heart. Let them understand that you have no intention of affecting them negatively. You are only honoring what you know to be your purpose and hope that they will respect that for what it is.

The third case is the most difficult but is also a test of how committed you are to the expression of your highest self. Understand that someone who doesn’t honor your path is not showing you love. What they are interested in is a conditional relationship, not love. They may love their idea of who you should be, but they are not loving you as you are. You may have to reevaluate who has consistent access to you.

Regardless of the scenario, you must deal with the situation at hand. Part of being committed to your purpose is clearing the way for it to exist.

When you’re looking for tremendous change in your life, it’s hard to envision how it may come about. You have to start somewhere but the beginning of any lengthy journey may feel discouraging.

When you know in your heart of hearts that there is a particular space you should occupy, understand that nothing can stop you. What is yours is yours. However, you have to firmly believe in that.

Your certainty and focus will conjure up the third element over which you have no control – Divine convergence.

This is where synchronicity happens. Unimagined opportunity appears. Allies come out of seemingly nowhere. Quantum leaps take place. Why? Because the Universe isn’t restricted to lining things up in a linear fashion.

Don’t be discouraged by what seems to be a long or impossible path. Start walking with determination and then allow yourself to be carried by Universal grace.
