Unpleasant experiences can play over and over in the mind.
Unfortunately, many get stuck in the realm of self-judgment about the experience, and mistake it for “processing.” Instead of feeling and acknowledging the pain, they inadvertently exacerbate it.
Let spirit extract the lessons while providing the essential self-compassion to move you through. A true process ultimately leads to progress.
It is exhausting to continually pack away pieces of your true self. Whether trying to fit into some self-imposed expectation or one that others have placed upon you, this type of erasure erodes vitality.
Remember, It takes a lot of energy to be anything other than yourself.
Nobody enjoys the experience of fear. It’s associated with negativity and we are encouraged to rid ourselves of it. However, trying to do so only exacerbates its hold.
To successfully deal with it is to employ self-compassion by remembering your humanity and that fear is a natural part of that. Then balance this by remembering your divinity which holds space for everything, including fear. It is this action of expansion that makes all the difference.
Instead of being consumed by it, you create a container big enough to hold it. In this way, fear becomes an ally.
Each person has an intricate network of beliefs. All information is sifted through this filter.
Unfortunately, this mechanism is faulty when beliefs go unchecked. It can misinterpret intent, hear things that weren’t said, and make assumptions that aren’t true.
Not questioning your foundational beliefs is trying to move forward on unreliable ground.
It is challenging for anything that is neglected to flourish. This is true of plants, projects and life itself.
Whereas plants and projects die out, life tends to keep us in the same circumstances…until we learn and choose to do something different. Although it doesn’t feel like it, repeating the same lessons is grace.
It’s a call to pay closer attention to the innermost aspects of your being. As long as you ignore them, thriving remains out of reach.
We want to be recognized for our intelligence, achievement, attractiveness, or any other societal measure of exceptionalism. We want our worth confirmed.
It is human to feel good when recognized, but it has to be put in perspective.
Worthiness isn’t earned or granted. It’s inherent. It is anchored in the soul. When this is remembered, the endless search for affirmation will cease.
Tweet this: Your worth isn’t given. It is a given.
